From August 12 to 14, 2026, the 10th Shanghai International Automotive Innovation Technology Week (IATW) and the Automotive Powertrain & Control Technology Expo were held as scheduled at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. As a molybdenum disulfide manufacturer, Thriving (Luoyang) New Materials Co., Ltd. (Booth N3-B190) presented its core products, including non-acid-leached molybdenum disulfide, and sincerely invited industry peers to visit and exchange ideas.

Molybdenum disulfide is an indispensable solid lubricant in the automotive driveline field, widely used in chassis ball joints, constant velocity joint greases, valve guides, automotive carbon brushes, silicone rubber seals, and more. Under high-temperature and heavy-load conditions, it reduces the coefficient of friction, prevents fretting wear and galling, and enhances the wear resistance and transmission reliability of components. However, traditional acid-leaching production leaves residual hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids, which can cause copper strip corrosion, and the acid process is highly polluting, posing challenges to environmentally friendly production.

To address these pain points, Thriving New Materials adopts a physical purification process – hydrocyclone separation technology. This method replaces the hydrochloric/hydrofluoric acid production route with physical centrifugal separation, using centrifugal force fields for purification without introducing harmful chemicals, resulting in non-acid-leached molybdenum disulfide. This process eliminates acid residues at the source and enables eco-friendly production. The hydrocyclone-purified molybdenum disulfide showcased not only serves as a high-grade lubricating grease additive and solid lubricant but also, thanks to its stable quality, can replace imported molybdenum disulfide, offering downstream customers a reliable and green molybdenum disulfide solution. The company has obtained ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 certifications, practising green manufacturing.
